The National workshop for Child's Consultation in The Gambia on Child Protection Legislation, Policies, Procedures and Practices about CRC which is organized by the Coordination of working children and youth of The Gambia, started on the 11th August 2017 at Octagon Residence in Essau.
The workshop gathers together 24 participants from all the seven different associations AWCY namely Barra, Soma, Farafenni, Brikama, Pakalinding, Kaur, Tanji, and CEDEN - The Gambia.The participants learned the following
- Concept and defination of child Rights
- Roles of children in Child Rights Promosion
- The african charter on the rights and welfare of children
- Similarities between the CRC and the ACRWC
- The legal instruments( Guiding Principles and obligations)
- How CRC is being Monitored the Reporting and Organisation
- The UPR(Universal periodic Report Review) information for NGOs
- Discussion on the children act of the gambia 2005
- The main areas of the concluding observation on the Gambia’s combined secon and Third periodic Reports
